To get the best bang for your buck, you’ll want to strike while the iron — or, in this case, the sale price — is hot.
But when is the prime time to shop on Prime Day?
According to The Post’s Victoria Giardina, a business journalist and content strategist, “deals are always subject to change” during Amazon Prime’s Big Deal Days.
When does Prime Minister’s Day in October end?
October’s two-day discount bonanza, the second Prime deal event of the year, runs from Tuesday, October. 8, through Wednesday, October. 9.
Giardina pointed to the BISSELL Little Green Portable Multi-Purpose Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner as an example. The item was on sale until Prime Day for $99 — and then dropped to $81.99 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the OXO Good Grips Foldaway Dish Rack was previously on sale days ago for $34.99, but is now no longer available at the low sale price.
So do I have to be a Prime member to buy the October Prime Day?
Just because something isn’t on sale for the first day of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, which are exclusive to Prime members, doesn’t mean it won’t be available for a deal on day two. Conversely, products may be available for purchase on super sale the first day, but full price the next day – or, worse, they sell out.
Amazon also offers Lightning deals – or short-lived sales on special items that are only available for a few hours at most.
“Keep a check on the product category or product you’re shopping for, use your best judgment, like we do, and don’t let cross prices and red percentage marks fool you,” Giardina said.
“Sometimes, a 20% off deal on a high-ticket item is a lot better than a 50% off deal on a $10 shampoo.”
If you’re wondering what makes a good deal, The Post’s PJ McCormick, a deals writer and reporter, previously said he’s “thrilled” by a product or service that’s more than 35% off .
That being said, he also advised shoppers to read customer reviews, compare prices with other online retailers and try to find the best deals on more expensive products like TVs, air conditioners, Apple devices and more. .
Prime Big Deal Days vs. Prime Minister’s Day
The only real difference between sales earnings, as McCormick explains, is the month in which they occur.
Positioned closer to Christmas than its July predecessor, Prime Day, Amazon’s current Big Deal Days offer a fantastic opportunity to start your holiday shopping early.
For this week’s sales, the Post Wanted team has rounded up some of the best discounts on fan-favorite products from the week’s sales and updates their competition list throughout Amazon Prime’s Big Deal Days.
“Amazon likes to keep us on our toes, and the Post Wanted shopping team is here to take the guesswork out of it for you by updating our content to reflect the best prices,” Giardina said.
