You don’t have to wait until October. 31 to indulge in these festive pop-ups. From a “scary as hell” immersive experience to a thrilling scare in Times Square to family-friendly entertainment, there’s plenty of October trick-or-treating to look forward to.

Whether you want to trick or treat, here are some festive events crawling around town this month.

Sleepy Hallow Spooktacle

Sleepy Hollow’s Harvest in HERO is on the plaza level at Rockefeller Center.

Embark on an adventure beneath the bustling streets of New York City! From October 12 to November 10, HERO, Rockefeller Center’s new 13,000-square-foot underground multisensory exhibit will transform into Sleepy Hollow’s Harvest.

Tickets start at $35.

Stroll through eight enchanting rooms to be transported to the heart of Washington Irving’s classic tale set in the 19th century Hudson Valley, complete with captivating audiovisual effects, seasonal food and drink, and imaginative weekly events that will they leave you spellbound.

The space will host spooky movie nights on Wednesdays, happy hours served at The Witch’s Hearth bar on Friday nights, and family costume parties on Saturday afternoons to wrap you up in folklore. Tickets are $34.90 for children and $44.90 for adults.

Fall festive fun

Cityside Pumpkin Patch has a pumpkin-exploding area.
General admission starts at $20.
At night, the pumpkin patch has an over 21 experience with fall cocktails and food.

Celebrate the ultimate fall experience on the Summer Club rooftop in Long Island City. From October 4th to October 31st, the 25,000 square foot space will be transformed into a pumpkin paradise with over 10,000 pumpkins brought in from upstate New York.

Join in the family fun, including pumpkin smashing, scarecrow archery and plenty of photos to capture those fall memories. Weekends are even more exciting with a twist – after 8pm, the patch becomes an over-21 haven for fall-themed cocktails and desserts, ensuring your evenings are as vibrant as the season itself.

The venue also offers black light archery.
No need to go upstate: Pumpkins are sourced from NY and brought to the Big Apple.

The Spirits’ Speakeasy at Sincerely Ophelia’s features a performance by Margery, a medium whose powers are the talk of the town.

The world premiere of Spirits’ Speakeasy welcomes guests to an enchanting evening of mystery and magic with an all-new immersive experience featuring a cast of true mediums, magicians and psychics with a mix of live music and three sessions.

From September 19 to November 3, Sincerely, Ophelia will host an unforgettable experience that combines the allure of the golden age of magic with the intrigue of spiritualism.

The Food and Drink Museum is partnering with Economy Candy for a special trick-or-treat event. LES Sweet Shop is open year-round at 108 Rivington St.

The Museum of Food and Drink will be hosting two great Halloween themed events this month.

Haunted Dip Warm-up on October 26, hosted by the amazing cookbook author Alyse Whitney of Big Dip Energy – a BDE we can all enjoy.

Choose a recipe to add to the spreadsheet—repetitions are a scary thought—and get ready to dive into the flavors. Don’t forget to dress up in your best Halloween costume for a chance to win the costume contest – bonus points for any food-themed outfit.

Then, on the eve of All Hallows, MOFAD will partner with another New York favorite: Economy Candy.
